Helping hands

Every hand makes a difference. It may seem like such a small thing but when you add it up, each piece that's moved, every step that is taken is one less that someone else has to take. Through all of this mountains are moved and we pray that a change for the better may come to pass. Relationships are also being built as you walk and work side by side.

So little does make a difference, and is significant. For less than a dollar a day a child can be sponsored to help ensure that they receive an education and it even helps to provide lunch each school day for some.

Fit

Here John, Marcel's brother is working on the next rock and it's fit into the scheme of things. Piece by piece the wall comes together and there is a place for each rock, they all will fit. It's that way with the body of Christ, each have a place and the fit when we work together is perfect. There is a lot to be done not only in this wall but in each of us and in the unity of His church.

Rock line

Ever been in one of those work places where you feel like your just moving stuff from one place to another to be busy? Some days are just like that. If we could just see the big picture we think it would make all the difference. The Lord many times only shows us the "next step" and wants us to trust Him for the next one after that. How many times have I wanted to just see a bit more, but in hindsight now have realized that if I had I would have run, and probably still be going. It may be hard to wait on that next step but it's oh so worth it, trusting Him for the results. Would you like more info on Hope for Haiti? E-mail us at saintmarchaiti@gmail.com .

Balancing act

While this child is helping at Bois Neuf she is balancing a rock on her head! What a blessing she is as each of these rocks needs to reach it's destination. So many hands and heads have made this project a possibility, we give God the praise. The right fit

Stone upon stone this wall is being build. Finding the "right fit" is so very important as it helps in the overall strength of the entire project. As God continues to build us up He knows the right fit and just what is needed next, that we would be built strong to withstand the storms in our lives and be a blessing to others. This project at Bois Neuf is and has been built over much time and even involves the tearing down of some of the old so that the new can be built. Allow God today to begin or continue a work in your life.

Tearing down

With all the clutter and stuff in our lives the Lord may need to 1st "tear down" before He starts a new building process in us. Even in this picture things needed to be removed or torn down before the building could go on. What is it in my life that the Lord needs to "remove" so that His building may go on? Of course He has given us free will, so this is where the "rubber meets the road", am I willing to allow Him to remove, tear down whatever might hinder the process of growth? Hummm, tearing down something else is fun, but when it gets personal, I'll need to think on that, Lord help me.

Leading toward the cross

It would appear that there is work going on that is leading to the cross. Indeed it is, not only to build this wall and beyond but to ultimately be used to help lead people to the cross. Of course the cross is an image or .... cross .... how both wonderful and painful it is used as a reminder, of what our Lord has done for us.

Delivery

The rocks, sand, cement have all been picked up and brought to Bois Neuf, now it's time to put them together. Almost everything is done by hand here, but this time you will notice in one of the pictures to come, there is a cement mixer!? What a blessing this is for a project of this size. Men and women alike have come to lend a hand and now will "deliver" the needed materials into the hands of the craftsmen, while at the same time pick up a few pointers on how to build. All this preperation will provide a "solid foundation" that could be thought of like the foundation of Christ in our lives. As we continue to submit to Him we are built up and become a living witness to all those around us. We are built on an unchanging solid foundation that cannot be shaken and this is where we pray that others will, come follow Him, becoming part of the body of Christ. Many will benefit from this "building" but it is only a building, may it be that others are drawn unto Him for an eternity, using the building blocks He has supplied.

Transformation

In the coming days watch as this project at Bois Neuf takes shape. Each year a "Camp Meeting" is held at Bois Neuf and this year will be no different. Starting April 30 and running for four days well over a thousand people will gather to hear the gospel, pray, worship, learn and so much more. This area in the photos is the "stage" area that is undergoing a transformation that has been provided for by many donors as well as the churches in Haiti with EMEVI. Please pray for this event as it takes much work and many hands to bring it all together. Can't wait to see the pictures coming in the days ahead? Click on the title "Transformation" above and check it out now. Need additional information?, send us a note at saintmarchaiti@gmail.com .

Motar

Here at Charrette it took many hands to build the walls. The team from Colorado pitched in lending a hand, setting block upon block. The children love to watch and see what's going on. Soon these children will all have a classroom under a roof and out of the weather. Before a building was built here the town's people mocked the Christians saying where is your God? You have nothing. God has a plan and this part of it started to unfold in 1999 when a youth group from Pennsylvania started the building process for the church, one block at a time. Now the community looks for guidance and direction from the church, and it started with a Foundation that cannot be shaken.

Block upon block

What imprint will I leave? Sooner or later most of us will ask ourselves that very question. Will it be building up or tearing down? There is a time and season for each of these, just what is it the Lord is asking me to do? Here in Charrette, Haiti many are called to help with the building process for this school and the education of the precious children in Haiti. Hope for Haiti helps connect people with needs around the St Marc area through the ministry of EMEVI. Join us today by reaching out and leaving an imprint that may very well last an eternity. saintmarchaiti@gmail.com for more information.

Reaching higher

The view from Charrette is beautiful, even with a view of the bay at St Marc if you were to gaze to the west. All looks peaceful and calm. A closer inspection reveals what is not seen from the distance and sheds a different light. Poverty, hunger, little hope in the eyes of people you meet, and so much more is revealed as you, look, smell, touch and taste of the environment that surrounds you.
All this becomes personal when we allow others to "gaze" into our lives. Others that peer our way, may see a very different person from afar, than what would be seen through closer inspection. Seeing the state of need near Charrette is a visual picture of the needs that may be hidden in us, in me. As we allow others to walk with us those needs can be addressed, just like when we see the needs in Charrette and step forward walking with our brothers and sisters there.
We rejoice seeing this foundation being set in place and the walls being built at Charrette. May we allow the Lord to do a work in us that is built on the solid foundation of Christ!

Many hands...

The walls continued to grow day by day. These classrooms when completed will already be filled. The school at Charrette has 250 students who at present meet in one large room (the church) and two outside classrooms. Would you like to help? The next project will be the roofing to bring this nearer to completion. Contact us at saintmarchaiti@gmail.com for additional information.

Kitchen upgrade

For years the kitchen at Marcel's has been outside on the porch, where all the cooking and cleaning was done. Before the arrival of the team from Colorado it is obvious that Marcel has been very busy. As Marcel welcomes teams to his house he has been upgrading a little each year. In December this was still just a concrete block room, what a transformation.

Lives being transformed and encouraged through the sharing of the gospel. As the team had many opportunities to share both by example and sharing, lives are being changed. Watch in the days ahead for the testimony that is shared from hearts on fire.
