The Bucket

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”  Galatians 6:2

A friend asked if she could donate her purses.  “No,” I told her, “They carry everything on their heads.  If what they need doesn’t fit on their head, it doesn’t come, or a friend helps.”  This man carried mud in a bucket on his head.  What do you carry on your head, in your mind, close to your heart?  Are you carrying things that doesn’t fit in the bucket?  Give those things to your friend, Jesus, to help you carry.

Visit the Hope for Haiti facebook page to find out what they build with the mud.

How Many Days?

Baptism is special.

It’s the beginning of the journey.  For this man, it might be near the end of his physical journey.  The life expectancy for Haitian men is currently 61.  Whether this man has many days left, or only a few, he wants to spend them making a different for his new Lord.  This man declares God’s adoption.  Who claims you as son?  As daughter?  Who knows the number of your days.  Are you willing to spend them making a difference for your Lord?

Completion

“Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you. I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you.”  1 Chronicles 29:16-17

David handed the blueprints to Solomon, and prays for the completion of the temple.  God provided the resources for a safe place for the Israelites to come.  God will do the same for the Haitians at Bois Neuf.  Although the building is not complete, we have faith he will supply the three tresses needed.  He will provide a safe place that will shield his people from rain and sun.  Will you echo David’s words and joyfully praise God for this outdoor auditorium?

Free Shipping!

It's always nice to receive a gift in the mail.  How about a large box filled with goodies and someone else has paid the shipping!  This all came together in the past few weeks, a free box, shipping to Haiti if we could meet the moving van in Charlotte, NC, and all the goodies that filled it up.  Somebodies in for some fun!  Thank's to our Ohio friends for the free shipping and all those that contributed to fill the box. Additional photo's at Hope for Haiti - select launch photo album and select the album of your choice at the drop down tab.
