Sifting Sand

Yesterday we looked at painting and today it's sifting sand to make it ready for mixing with concrete. Now where do you suppose they get sand for concrete in Haiti? You can find it along the road near a river just to the north of Colmini where this picture was taken. Men dive down into the river with a 5 gallon bucket and get the sand off the bottom, one bucket at a time. Then it's brought to a spot where it can be shoveled into a vehicle. How is that for making a living? Any takers?
